Patronal Festival 2026
24 June is the feast day of our Patron Saint, John the Baptist. In celebration of this we hosted a number of events in the lead up to the 24th.
All events are free with donations very welcome.
Saturday 13 June, 10am
Visitors from the Saint Mary Abbots Guild of Ringers rang a full peal of the bells. A brief recording is available here:

Sunday 14 June, 3pm
At 3pm on the 14th, Quadrophonia, a quartet of local saxophonists, wowed an appreciative audience on the lawn in front of the church, performing a programme which included arrangements of tunes by George Gershwin, Sammy Nestico and Glenn Miller.

We were blessed with glorious weather and huge thanks go to the army of bakers who provided a veritable mountain of scones and cakes. The stawberries, including some covered in chocolate, were a particular hit!
The members of Quadrophonia are freelance musicians who studied at Berklee College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the University of North Texas. Zach (alto saxophone) is still a student at the Royal Academy of Music. Follow them on Instagram here:

All Age Holy Communion with Blackbirds choir.

Our public Festival programme concluded with a wonderful Choral Evensong service at 6pm. Bishop Christopher who is retiring from his postion as Bishop of Southwark later this year preached for us.
Our church choir was joined by singers from across London to perform music including Samuel Sebastian Wesley's triumphal anthem 'Blessed be the God and Father'.

Eltham CofE school
Our Church school will be visiting the Church across the day to move through various prayer stations. They will pray for the needs of the world; our community; and for people who are ill or in need.
